O tej wycieczce
This is the Milan day trip that books the actual panoramic Bernina Express — a guaranteed seat in the glass-roof carriage, not the regional Red Train. The route runs in reverse compared to most Bernina day trips from Milan: coach to St. Moritz first, train down to Tirano, coach back.
You meet at Piazza della Repubblica in central Milan (Metro M3, Repubblica). The coach leaves at the scheduled time and drives about 3 hours north through Lake Como and the Engadin valley, with a short coffee break along the way. You arrive in St. Moritz around midday and get about 2 hours 30 minutes of free time — long enough for a walk along the lake, lunch, and a look at the village.
In the afternoon, you walk to the station and board the Bernina Express in your guaranteed panoramic carriage. The train climbs out of St. Moritz, crosses the Bernina Pass at 2,253 metres with views of Lago Bianco and Lej Nair, then descends past the Morteratsch Glacier, Bernina Diavolezza, the Montebello Curve and Val Poschiavo. About 2 hours later you reach the Brusio Spiral Viaduct and Tirano.
A short break in Tirano, then the coach takes you back to Milan, arriving in the late evening. The full day runs 12 to 13 hours. The panoramic carriage seat is confirmed at booking — specific seats are assigned on board, not in advance.
